SOUTHERN ALBERTA BRAIN INJURY SOCIETY (SABIS)
SABIS is dedicated to helping adults with acquired brain injury access the supports and services they need in order to live as independently as possible in the community.
SABIS is a registered non-profit that offers lifelong services to survivors at no cost to individuals or their families.
SABIS staff offer support services which include peer-support groups, a companions support group for caregivers and a peer mentorship program. Educational services are also offered to provide more information on the causes and effects of acquired brain injury. Case Managers at SABIS work with individuals to assist in finding and applying for services from government programs and community agencies, advocating for clients when necessary.

You Can Make A Difference
SABIS began in February 1985 as a family support group. Caregivers joined forces with individuals from community agencies and other community members to discuss the lack of information and support for families supporting adults with an acquired brain injury.
